Slowly but surely, Rambo 5 is finally – finally – beginning to fall into place.

Omega Underground has today uncovered a series of audition tapes to prove that, yes, casting is now officially underway for Sylvester Stallone’s action sequel (codenamed Rambo: Last Blood), in which his beefed-up John Rambo will be coming up against the Mexican cartel.

He won’t be doing so alone, mind you, as the newly-uncovered synopsis indicates that Rambo will be currying favor from an unnamed member of the press as he seeks to dismantle the dangerous trafficking ring responsible for kidnapping his friend’s daughter. Imagine Takenon steroids.

Rambo teams up with a journalist to track down and rescue a group of local girls that have been kidnapped by a Mexican sex trafficking ring, after trying to settle down to a quiet peaceful life stateside at the family ranch in Arizona after spending decades abroad.

Another major figure in this sweeping global story is Robert Siedel, an American goon who is deeply involved with the sex trafficking operation. At some point in Rambo 5, he’s captured by Sly’s titular commando, and subsequently tortured as our desperate hero attempts to gather some intel about the whereabouts of the missing girls.

Both Michael Derek and Cole Gleason have auditioned for the vacant part (see below), while the studio is also said to be considering Jan Cornet and Luisa Rubino for the film. Fair warning: each audition tape is NSFW.

In line with previous reports, filming on Rambo 5 (Last Blood?) is expected to kick off on September 1st, when Bulgaria and the Spanish Canary Islands will be playing host to Sylvester Stallone’s long-gestating sequel. A release window is yet to be announced, but we’ll let you know once we learn more.
