Harley Quinn Suicide Squad

New Suicide Squad Clip Reveals Deleted Harley Quinn Moment

Suicide Squad was famously heavily reworked from director David Ayer's initial version before it was released in cinemas, resulting in a muddled movie which felt like it was missing a fuller exploration of its colorful cast of characters, not least the complicated love story between Joker and Harley Quinn. And while it might not be too substantial, this short behind the scenes clip below reveals another Harley moment that didn't make it into the final cut.

Suicide Squad was famously heavily reworked from director David Ayer’s initial version before it was released in cinemas, resulting in a muddled movie which felt like it was missing a fuller exploration of its colorful cast of characters, not least the complicated love story between Joker and Harley Quinn. And while it might not be too substantial, this short behind the scenes clip below reveals another Harley moment that didn’t make it into the final cut.

The brief snippet would have taken place in the flashback to Harley dancing in the Joker’s club, the moment when the jealous Clown Prince of Crime murders Common’s Monster T for eyeing up his girl. These extra few seconds see Harley in a glass cage and as a partygoer watches her dance, she gives them a fright by lunging at the glass and laughing. This appears to be a rehearsal, too, as Ayers can be seen gesturing in the background.

It won’t be long before we can stop scouring Twitter for just a few extra seconds of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, as the Clown Princess of Crime is set to return in DC’s upcoming Birds of Prey movie. The actress is expected to lead the all-female team-up film, with other heroines joining in on the fun including Black Canary, Huntress, Renee Montoya and Cassandra Cain. We’re not sure who’ll be seen with Robbie on screen, but Francesca Ruscio and Peyton Elizabeth Lee are among those rumored to be signing up.

It’s also thought that Joker will be absent from Birds of Prey, which heavily suggests Harley will have split from her abusive boyfriend by the time the movie opens. This implies that Warner Bros. have listened to fans’ complaints about the couple’s depiction in Suicide Squad and the new movie will feature a more independent, proactive interpretation of Harley Quinn – which is definitely fine by us.
