Black Panther in Avengers Infinity War

Marvel’s Black Panther Headed To Netflix In September

The Mouse House has today announced plans to bring Marvel's Black Panther to Netflix on September 4th. Two weeks and counting!

If Disney’s overall presence on Netflix is on the wane, then the Mouse House is about to go out with a bang – a Wakandan bang, to be more specific.

That’s right, Marvel’s Black Panther is headed to Netflix next month (September 4th), meaning you can watch Ryan Coogler’s Afrocentric epic until your heart’s content.

The billion-dollar hit is also the perfect warm-up act for Avengers: Infinity War, too – second only to Thor: Ragnarok – so if you’re about to indulge in an MCU marathon anytime soon, Netflix is the place to be.

But that won’t always be the case; as MCU Cosmic points out, soon the Mouse House will be stripping Netflix of any Disney content in preparation for its own direct-to-consumer streaming service, which is expected to boot online sometime next year with a live-action Star Wars series and much, much more. This means Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the final MCU titles to feature on Netflix, before Captain Marvel becomes the first to debut via Disney’s own service.

The times, they are a-changing, but Black Panther fans can at least take solace in the fact that Ryan Coogler’s star-studded adventure, one which has since collected an eye-watering $1.3 billion worldwide (and a 97% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes), will soon be available to stream anywhere, anytime. And isn’t that exciting? It’ll certainly help ease the wait for the so-far untitled Avengers 4, which is currently incubating in post-production ahead of its own release in May of next year.

And only then will we know if Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be successful in their quest to bring Thanos down to size.
