Watch: Avengers 4 Fan-Made End Credits Are Seriously Depressing

CBM has relayed a very brief Avengers 4 fan video which tees up an incredibly bleak finale for Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Simple, yet utterly devastating.

That’s how one would describe this fan-made ending to Avengers 4, which keeps things minimalist by teasing the end of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes… and nothing else.

It also echoes the finales of both Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp, two MCU blockbusters which ended with “Thanos will return” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp will return,” respectively. Both text-only teases are clearly referring to the 2019 mystery movie that is Avengers 4, which looks set to bring the curtain down on this current installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In doing so, it’ll likely kill off a number of high-profile heroes so that the next generation – think Captain Marvel, Black Panther, and Spider-Man – may take point in the absence of Thor, Iron Man and Captain America. At least, that’s the overriding consensus.

Below you’ll see that the fan-made video simply bids farewell to the OG Avengers…

Like we said, simple, yet utterly devastating, and that’s despite it containing absolutely no footage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe or its past installments.

Granted, it shouldn’t be too much longer before Marvel Studios is ready to begin promotion on Avengers 4 – a late-November window appears to be the safest bet, meaning the first teaser trailer for Captain Marvel will likely be released into the wild sometime in October to avoid a conflict of interests.

After all, there are only eight weeks (and change!) separating each MCU blockbuster, so it’s fair to say that everyone will be walking on eggshells by the time fall 2018 rolls around. And just imagine how the Internet will react to Avengers 4‘s trailer reveal – there will be weeping in the streets! May 3rd, 2019 is the date for your diaries.
