According to Deadline, the Thor: Ragnarok star has signed on to portray a “physically brave” but “emotional coward” in the film, which will be penned by none other than Marvel Cinematic Universe mogul Joe Russo. Reportedly, Hemsworth will play a man who, amongst wrestling with “his identity and sense of self,” must liberate an Indian boy from capture.

Set in India, Dhaka will be produced by Joe and Anthony Russo under their AGBO banner. Also producing is Mike Larocca – executive producer on the upcoming Chadwick Boseman-led 17 Bridges – and Chris Hemsworth, through his Thematic Entertainment.

Behind the camera, long-time stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave (Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War) – who served as the stunt double for Chris Evans in The First Avenger and The Winter Soldier – will make his directorial debut.

For those of you who don’t know, Joe and Anthony Russo are incredibly active outside of the highest grossing film franchise of all time. Last week, for instance, the duo announced their first non-MCU project in some time would be Cherry, based on the novel of the same name by Nico Walker.

Their banner, AGBO, also recently purchased Everything Everywhere All at Once — the latest from Dan Kwan & Daniel Scheinert (Swiss Army Man). Not to mention, the pair’s also getting behind IT: Chapter Two director and producer, Andy and Barbara Muschietti, respectively, for The Electric Slate, based on the Simon Stålenhag sci-fi novel.

As for the next time you’ll be able to see Chris Hemsworth and Joe and Anthony Russo work together on the big screen, well, you already know the answer: Avengers 4.
