Electric First Clip For Bohemian Rhapsody Asks For Another Galileo

Watch Freddie Mercury and Queen crack Bohemian Rhapsody in this electric clip from 20th Century Fox's upcoming music biopic.

Widely considered to be one of the greatest rock anthems of all time, Bohemian Rhapsody holds a special place in the hearts of Queen fans, and thanks to Fox’s upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic, we’re about to learn a little more about the creative process behind the scenes, including why there are so many high-pitch renditions of “Galileo!”

In anticipation of its UK release next month – November 2nd for those in the States – today brings forth the very first clip for Bohemian Rhapsody, and it’s all about the moment when Mercury and his band indulge in a little experimentation, ultimately leading to the creation of the titular iconic track that helped propel Queen to super-stardom. And to think a number of stations outright refused to play the band on the radio…

Indeed, if you’ve been keeping a close eye on Fox’s starry biopic, you’ll know that Bohemian Rhapsody has emerged from some trouble of its own, after production was brought to a screeching halt back in December when it was alleged that erstwhile director Bryan Singer (X-Men) had become unstable, lashing out at the cast and crew and generally losing control of his production.

He’s since released a statement about the entire ordeal, but it seems apparent that he could no longer control his music drama. In Singer’s place, Eddie the Eagle helmer Dexter Fletcher was appointed to oversee the remainder of production, during which time he helped nudge Bohemian Rhapsody over the finish line.

It’s fast approaching, too, what with the Rami Malek-led pic scheduled for a debut in the United Kingdom late next month (October 24th), before making its way across the pond in time for November 2nd.
