Deadpool 2 Actor Sounds Interested In Playing Superman

Despite reports of Henry Cavill possibly ending his run as Superman being about a week old now, that doesn't mean the geek community has stopped reeling. Think about it: if indeed he's out as the Man of Steel, then big, big changes are undoubtedly ahead for DC films.

In fact, the story didn’t even have time to cool off before other reports began circulating alleging that Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan is being considered by Warner Bros. as the next actor to play Big Blue on the silver screen. Granted, my gut tells me that’s based on some very loose chatter, but the reality of the situation is that Superman is an icon that’ll forever be recast. Similar to the likes of Batman and James Bond, no one man will run with the torch for too long.

On that note, it’s worth mentioning that Deadpool 2‘s own Rob Delaney (yes, Peter) had the following to say on Twitter:

“Heard they’re in the market for a new Superman. How sexy are they looking to go?”

Though that statement could’ve been made in jest, you have to admit that it’s the boyhood dream of many to grow up and one day play the Last Son of Krypton. Delaney may not end up being the next in line for the gig, but the guy’s allowed to dream, right?

In all honesty, Cavill’s inevitable replacement probably won’t be announced for years because, don’t forget, WB currently have no plans for another Superman movie to begin with. Right now, they’re much more focused on bringing Supergirl to cinemas yet again, so it’s highly advised that you not hold your breath for any news on the Man of Steel to surface.
