Phoebe Waller-Bridge Wouldn’t Think Twice About Returning To Star Wars

Speaking with Vanity Fair, L3 actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge has revealed that she'd reprise her Star Wars role in a heartbeat.

Solo: A Star Wars Story wasn’t the four-quadrant success that Disney was hoping for, that much we know, but there has been chatter of a potential sequel getting off the ground in the not-so-distant future.

Remember, lead star Alden Ehrenreich initially signed up for three appearances as the titular smuggler, hinting that Lucasfilm’s franchise plans may include spinoffs for Lando and maybe – just maybe – Boba Fett.

There’s still much work to be done before Solo 2.0 gains any sense of momentum, though there is one member of the cast who wouldn’t think twice about returning to the Star Wars universe. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, whose droid L3-37 became one of Solo‘s breakout hits, recently told Vanity Fair (h/t ComicBook.com) that she’s ready and willing to reprise as L3, should such an opportunity arise.

That would be a scream. I can imagine she has quite the past. Who knows what these imaginations will come up with next? I could play L3 forever.

L3-37: A Star Wars Story? It’s unlikely, mind you, as Lucasfilm may be reluctant to hand out a bona fide sequel to Solo, let alone dedicating the necessary time and resources to a character-specific spinoff. Besides, we have a sneaking suspicion that Lando is next in line for the big-screen treatment.

Nevertheless, even after being introduced to BB-8 and K-2SO in quick succession, it’s fair to say that Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s L3 resonated with the wider Star Wars fanbase, so let’s hope the stars align for Solo: A Star Wars Story 2.0 and Waller-Bridge is given the chance to slip into the mo-cap suit once more.

Closer to home, we’re pleased to report that Solo: A Star Wars Story is already available via digital means, and will soon journey through hyperspace in anticipation of its Blu-ray release on Tuesday, September 25th.
