Game Of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, has joined The Tree Of Life star, Jessica Chastain, in the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror film, Mama. Mama is being written and directed by Andres Muschietti, who is making his feature length directing debut by adapting his short film of the same name.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister in the HBO drama, is just now starting to make his name in Hollywood through the widely successful show, and along with Chastain, this film is sure to be one on everybody’s watch list.

Chastain, who is one of the biggest breakout stars of 2011, has had more than her fair share of projects. She just premiered two films at the Venice Film Festival, Al Pacino’s thesis documentary/film Wilde Salome and Ami Canaan Mann’s directional debut Texas Killing Fields, with both projects receiving rave reviews.

Chastain also has two films at the Toronto International Film Festival, Ralph Fiennes directional debut Coriolanus, and Jeff Nicholas’ indie Take Shelter. Chastain also has released The Tree Of Life, The Debt and The Help this year, which have all been met with large success.

With offers for Chastain coming at her left, right and centre, one can only assume that Mama, must have some spark for the actress to tie herself not only the project but to a genre that she has not really been a part of before.

Mama is expected to start shooting next month, with a 2012 release in eye.
