Vincent D’Onofrio Still Teasing Kingpin Appearing In A Spider-Man Movie

Vincent D'Onofrio's one of the best villains the MCU has, as his fearsome portrayal as Wilson Fisk AKA the Kingpin has always been one of the most enjoyable things about Daredevil. Fans love him so much, in fact, that there's always talk about him making the jump to the movies to turn up for a cameo in a future Spider-Man flick opposite Tom Holland's wall-crawler. After all, Kingpin is a major foe of both Daredevil and Spidey's in the comics. And hey, it's all connected, right?

D’Onofrio himself is naturally up for it, as he’s said many times by now. In response to the awesome Daredevil season 3 trailer, one Twitter user said how much he’d like to see Kingpin face Spidey but bemoaned the fact it would never happen. The star retweeted the comment and added the teasing remark: “who says?”

Presumably, this isn’t D’Onofrio revealing that he knows something we don’t and just a comment that a movie crossover isn’t totally out of the question. Sure, we’ve heard that the Defenders themselves are unlikely to say, show up in Avengers 4, as it would be too complicated to make sure the audiences were up to speed with the characters, but a Kingpin cameo would be pretty simple to engineer.

Spider-Man: Homecoming already explored Peter Parker coming up against unsavory street-level villains, so it wouldn’t be hard to include a scene in a future movie which sees the web-slinger intercept a meeting between some crooks he’s trying to stop and the Kingpin. Casual viewers would work out that this was some big crime boss while those of us in the know would squee with delight at the Marvel movie/TV crossover.

Until that happens, though, Kingpin returns to get his vengeance on the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in Daredevil‘s third season, hitting Netflix on October 19th. Spider-Man: Far From Home, meanwhile, is filming now ahead of its July 5th, 2019 release.
