Hellboy is back, and from the looks of this newly-released banner, he’s returned in style.

Of course, I absolutely adored the Guillermo del Toro films and like many was fairly skeptical when David Harbour was cast as the titular character. After all, how could anyone do the role better than Ron Perlman? Well, it still remains to be seen how he’ll fare in the part, but consider my reservations dialed back quite a bit now after seeing this gorgeous banner below, which arrives ahead of the reboot’s big showcase this weekend at New York Comic Con.

Perhaps the most significant thing here is that this piece of promo art gives us our first look at Milla Jovovich as Nimue, the film’s villain. Not to mention that we also get a glimpse of Ian McShane as Professor Boom and a number of the nasty monsters that Hellboy will be coming up against, too.

Circling back to the aforementioned villain, though, and we can’t help but recall Harbour’s positive words regarding Jovovich’s performance from a few months back, when the star praised her by saying:

“She’s super bad-ass! I watched some of her coverage, and I was like, ‘Damn, you know how to work a camera!’ There are people that understand the camera, and I’m not one of them. Man, she would do certain things and I would just be riveted and like, ‘Wow, you are so sexy and exciting and powerful and crazy! I don’t know how to do that. That’s amazing!’”

As mentioned before, there’s certainly a fair amount of skepticism currently swirling around Hellboy, but the admittedly limited amount we’ve seen of it so far looks very promising and with the first trailer expected to drop tomorrow during its presentation at NYCC, the tide may soon start to turn in its favor.

In any case, it’ll be fascinating to see how Harbour tackles the character and you can look for Big Red to storm into theaters on April 12th, 2019.
