The one-sheet, seen below, features the titular Gellert Grindelwald, as played by Johnny Depp, with his back to us as he faces the rest of the enormous main cast of the movie. This includes familiar characters like Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Tina and Queenie Goldstein (Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol), Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogel) and Credence Barebones (Ezra Miller), as well as new faces like Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz), Theseus Scamander (Callum Turner) and Yusuf Kama (William Nadylam). Finally, there’s also a couple of old characters in new forms, like Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) and Nagini (Claudia Kim).

The poster bears the tagline: “Who will change the future?” This reminds us that dark wizard Grindelwald has world domination in his sights as he believes that it’s the right of the superior wizarding kind to subjugate humanity “for the greater good,” as is the character’s catchphrase. Of course, we’re all aware that he doesn’t succeed and that Voldemort will eventually rise up as the greater threat, but we’re meant to forget we know that.

Director David Yates has previously explained how he thinks Grindelwald differs from the Dark Lord. Whereas Voldemort was a clear figure of fear and evil, Yates sees Grindelwald as a gifted demogogue with a lot of charisma who’s able to manipulate and coerce others to join his cause. We saw something of this when he took Credence under his wing in his guise as Percival Graves in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, so it should be interesting to watch this explored even more in the follow-up.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald conjures its way into theaters on November 16th.
