At the ACE Comic Con, the actress known for playing Domino was asked which MCU character she’d like to team up with, and her first answer was someone from the universe of Marvel’s biggest rivals.

“I just thought Harley Quinn, but she’s not Marvel,” Beetz said with a laugh. “But I feel like that could be such a fun combination.”

Funnily enough, Beetz will be making her DC debut next year opposite Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker movie, with many predicting that she’ll serve as a love interest for the future Clown Prince of Crime. This standalone picture, however, will be occupying a separate reality from the DCEU, where Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is romantically involved with Jared Leto’s take on the Batman villain.

Beetz then went on to give her proper answer to the original question, proposing that the Merc with a Mouth and his associates could have some strong chemistry with Tony Stark.

“I guess in terms of Marvel specifically… I think Iron Man could be kinda fun. I don’t know why I don’t have a specific reason why,” she said. “I just think it’d be fun to do a movie with [Robert Downey Jr]. I feel like a Deadpool-Iron Man thing could be fun.”

With the Fox-Disney deal just a few months from away from closing, a crossover between the cast of Deadpool 2 and the Avengers doesn’t seem out of the question, but with many predicting that next year’s Avengers 4 will be Downey Jr.’s swan song for the MCU, you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up about seeing Domino and Iron Man share the screen.

In light of this historic merger between studios, the future of the X-Men franchise feels very mysterious right now. Even the director of the planned X-Force movie seems uncertain of what’s to become of this Deadpool follow-up, but given the momentum that the series currently has with audiences, surely Wade and Domino have at least one more outing left in them, right?
