Just when we thought we had the new Joker movie all figured out, the internet throws a curveball like this.
A new video has been circulating online that shows a Batmobile being transported through the streets of New York, and according to the YouTuber who uploaded the clip, the all too familiar vehicle was being taken out of the set of the Clown Prince of Crime’s upcoming flick. To make matters even more confusing, the car is clearly modeled on the one used by the Caped Crusader in the ‘60s Batman show.
Before we make too big a deal of this footage though, let’s remember that we’ve yet to receive proof or official confirmation that the car was actually being used for the Todd Phillips-helmed film. On the other hand, if everything we’re being told here is legit, then that throws a major wrench into the popular theory that the movie takes place in a DC world where Batman never existed.

Perhaps it’s best to leave this one alone until further evidence comes along. In the meantime, we’ve been receiving a steady stream of verified pics and clips from next year’s release. A couple of days ago, for instance, we saw Joaquin Phoenix taking to the streets of New York in a more traditional clown outfit while brandishing a sign that seemed to advertise a local sale.
For a more confrontational public spectacle, we also have a whole load of photos to suggest that Arthur Fleck will be stirring up chaos in the subway and inciting a mob to turn against the wealthy Thomas Wayne. From what we’ve seen so far, the Clown Prince will be regarded as something of a hero by the underprivileged masses, raising the question of how Batman could be seen by the public if he indeed exists in this world. For now, that’s still looking like a pretty big ‘if,’ but all will be revealed when Joker hits theaters on October 4th, 2019.
