Was The TARDIS Hidden In The Doctor Who Season 11 Premiere All Along?

The second episode of Doctor Who season 11 finally gave us a look at the Thirteenth Doctor's new, revamped TARDIS. If you'll recall, the last scene saw the Time Lord and her friends locate the missing machine and revel in its redecorated interior. Fans have been a bit mixed about the new control room so far, but it's a clever bit of design symmetry that the yellow-hued crystalline structure of the TARDIS looks like the Doctor's new sonic screwdriver.

Of course, this particular version isn’t really like any of the previous versions, but if we had to compare it to one, we’d say it most resembles the so-called “coral” TARDIS used by the Ninth and Tenth Doctors, which also had a somewhat organic look to it. But was episode 2 really the first time we laid eyes on Thirteen’s new time machine? Or did it actually appear in the premiere and just no one noticed?

That’s what Screen Rant believes. The outlet’s put forth a new theory today which says that the TARDIS can actually be spotted in the first episode of season 11, right near the end. In the screenshot below, you’ll see the Doctor and her companions floating in space and in the top right corner, just above Yaz’s head, you can see a quick flash of light which somewhat resembles the outline of the handy time machine.

As Screen Rant notes, it’s a true blink and you’ll miss it moment, and might really be nothing at all, but it’s interesting to ponder and will definitely get people talking. Whether it actually is the TARDIS or not though, it doesn’t matter at this stage since as we said above, the Doctor’s since found her beloved machine and has been putting it to good use lately.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been treated to some truly wonderful adventures through time and space on Doctor Who and can’t wait to see what awaits us in the reason of the season.
