Stan Lee’s Ralph Breaks The Internet Cameo Has Been Revealed

Ahead of its arrival next week, we now have the first details on Stan Lee's brief cameo in the animated sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Though he may not have lived to see his brief cameo appearance on the silver screen as it was intended, details of Stan Lee’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance in Ralph Breaks the Internet have been revealed.

Per Inverse, it turns out Lee’s cameo is a silent one, as the late, great Marvel Comics legend doesn’t actually utter a word when he comes between Vanellope von Schweetz and a squadron of Stormtroopers.

First things first: Ralph Breaks the Internet is not a Marvel movie; it simply belongs under the wider umbrella that is The Walt Disney Company, which also owns Pixar and a little-known studio called Lucasfilm. Couple this with the underlying plot of Ralph Breaks the Internet (read: Ralph and Vanellope traverse the world wide web and all of its many nooks and digital crannies) and it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that a digitized version of Stan Lee would crop up in the sequel.

It’s just… not what we were expecting?

While being pursued by a pack of Storm Troopers, Vanellope bumps into a digital avatar of Stan Lee (all humans on the internet are portrayed as Nintendo Mii-style figures with rectangular heads). He doesn’t say anything, just looks surprised for a few seconds before disappearing from the frame as the chase continues.

Either way, this is by no means the last time we’ll see Stan Lee up on the big screen; Marvel Studios has already filmed his cameo for Avengers 4 (and, presumably, Captain Marvel), which only adds a little more emotional weight to Joe and Anthony Russo’s MCU spectacle.

Closer to home, Ralph Breaks the Internet is scheduled for release next week, and if you’re curious to know how the film stacks up, you can find out what the critics have been saying about Disney’s animated sequel.
