Legends of Tomorrow Season 4

Next Week’s Legends Of Tomorrow Episode Contains A Pee-wee Herman Cameo

n the past few years, Legends of Tomorrow has played host to a variety of cameos made by historical figures. For better or worse, the likes of Albert Einstein, Elvis Presley and even a young Barack Obama have each crossed paths with the Waverider crew at some point. Heck, last night's episode, "Tender is the Nate," featured guest appearances from Salvador Dali and Ernest Hemingway.

But, depending on whom you may ask, the next guy to be added to the pantheon could top them all. As it turns out, the official Twitter account belonging to the LoT Writers Room just sent out this little nugget:

“So…let’s talk Ep 407 for a minute. Or an hour. Because there is a surprise appearance made by the one and only @peeweeherman!!!”

That’s right, it looks like Sara Lance, John Constantine and the rest of the gang will meet up with Pee-wee Herman during next week’s episode, “Hell No, Dolly!” Based on that statement, one would surmise Paul Reubens is reprising his legendary role, though I wish the writers could’ve been more specific.

In other words, I’m not willing to rule out a lookalike actor playing Pee-wee, or Reubens playing a different character altogether. But for now, it may actually be for the best to take the Tweet at face value because the simplest solution is probably what the creative minds behind the series tried getting across.

For more on “Hell No, Dolly!,” be sure to check out the official synopsis:

RIPPLE EFFECT — With Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Ava (Jes Macallan) at odds, Sara (Caity Lotz) tries to come up with a way for them to get along, but all is put on hold when a new magical creature attacks the Legends. Constantine (Matt Ryan) is forced to confront his tragic past but it could have devastating consequences for the rest of the team. Meanwhile, Mona (Ramona Young) has a crush on someone she works with and gets some advice from Nate (Nick Zano). Brandon Routh, Tala Ashe, Maisie Richardson-Sellers also star. April Mullen directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & Morgan Faust.

Legends of Tomorrow airs on Monday nights on The CW.
