Zack Snyder Reveals His Deleted Justice League Cameo

Say what you like about Zack Snyder's films, but I think it's inarguable that he was treated pretty damn shabbily by Warner Bros. The studio agreed to his multi-movie plan for the DCEU, and while neither Man of Steel or Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice were received particularly well by critics, they still made a whole bunch of money.

Then there’s the creative input he gave to Wonder Woman, which led directly into his Apokalyptic plans for Justice League. Sadly, WB proved not to have faith in his vision and, cruelly using the tragic death of his daughter as an excuse, booted him off the project. The end result was a limp dick blockbuster that satisfied nobody and was a huge box office disappointment.

And now, those blows keep coming, as it turns out that Warner Bros. even went so far as to cut his cameo from the movie. The news comes from (where else?) Vero, where the director has been steadily posting a stream of storyboards and answering questions from fans that tease what might’ve been.

The shot below sees Amy Adams’ Lois Lane (whose character was absolutely butchered in the theatrical cut) exiting a coffee shop and looking expectantly into the sky. But who’s that enjoying a coffee through the window behind her? Yup, it’s Zack!

Perhaps we’ll get to see this cameo in the film if the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut protest continues to pick up steam? While once it might’ve seemed unlikely, it’s notable that more than a year after Justice League‘s release the fans are as adamant as they’ve always been to see what Snyder originally had in mind.

The announcement of a mea culpa Director’s Cut home release would certainly give the studio a big win in the PR game, but would it be worth the expenditure in assembling it from rough footage?
