Here’s Why The Avengers 4 Trailer Has Taken So Long To Arrive

The very first trailer for Avengers 4 will finally be here tomorrow, but fans across the world are still wondering just what took so long for it to release?

At long last, and after what feels like eons of waiting, the very first trailer for Avengers 4 will make its way online tomorrow, at 9am EST, bright and early. Obviously, that’s hugely exciting and the internet is beyond eager to get their hands on the footage, but at the same time, everyone’s still got one question on their minds: why’d it take so long to get here?

After all, we’ve already seen trailers from Disney for releases arriving after Avengers 4, like The Lion King and Artemis Fowl. Not to mention that the first Infinity War preview was with us by the end of November, and it only hit theaters one week earlier in the year than its sequel is set to be with us (April 27th vs. May 3rd). So, what gives?

Well, a massive corporation like Walt Disney Studios obviously has a very careful and calculated marketing plan in place, especially when it comes to what could be one of their biggest releases of all-time. And as Screen Rant points out, there were many things that had to be taken into account when deciding on when to give us the first Avengers 4 trailer.

For one, they had to make sure none of their other releases were overshadowed. By putting out the preview for the Infinity War sequel last, as their final big trailer of the year, they ensure that not only will it not cast a shadow over anything else that would’ve come after, but that it’s also the number one thing on our mind as we head into the holidays, which will be a quiet period with not much in the way of news fighting for our attention.

Then, of course, there was the unexpected death of former U.S President George H.W. Bush, whose funeral took place on December 5th – the day that the trailer was supposed to be here. And given that the studio wanted to give the internet some breathing room from all the coverage on the funeral, we arrive at December 7th.

So, in short, the Avengers 4 trailer took so long to get here simply because there were a few things that had to happen around the same time and by positioning it as their final major preview to release this year, Disney’s able to ensure that it doesn’t overshadow any of their other films. And while we’re still set to get trailers for Spider-Man: Far From Home and Godzilla: King of the Monsters later this weekend at CCXP, it’s important to note that neither of those are Disney releases, nor will they garner even half as much attention as what we’re about to see from Joe and Anthony Russo’s upcoming mega blockbuster.
