Avengers: Endgame Theory Says Thanos Never Left Wakanda

Seeing how planet Earth is home to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, it would seem like a pretty unnecessary risk for Thanos to stay here after the events of Avengers: Infinity War when there's a big wide universe out there, but that’s exactly what this new fan theory alleges, arguing that by the time Avenges: Endgame starts, the Mad Titan is still only a plane journey away from Captain America and the gang.

As some of you will recall, co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo said just a few weeks ago that in the final shot of Infinity War, the villain is enjoying retirement on “Titan 2,” but according to Reddit user Thepride325, the brothers may have just offered this explanation to throw off the fans, and to be honest, the Redditor may have a point. After all, who’s to say that Thanos didn’t choose an already inhabited planet as his new Titan? In fact, the theorist claims to have heard from a friend with Marvel connections that the tyrant is still in Wakanda at the end of his last film.

To back up this hearsay, Thepride325’s argument is essentially two-fold. First off, the theory draws on Thanos’ famous claim that once his work is done, he’ll “finally rest, and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe,” and connects this to a quote from Black Panther about how “Wakanda has the most beautiful sunsets in the world.”

From this, the case is made that Marvel was teasing Thanos’ decision to settle down in T’Challa’s home country. Moreover, in the first Endgame trailer, it’s observed how Josh Brolin’s character can briefly be seen walking through a field of fruit that Thepride325 has observed bears a striking resemblance to the kiwano fruit, or the horned melon, found in parts of Africa.

All in all, it’s an interesting idea, even if we’ll surely need more evidence than this to start believing that Thanos has chosen the home world of his greatest enemies as the spot to settle down for a quiet retirement. Either way, we’ll find out when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
