Zack Snyder Says Ben Affleck’s The Perfect Batman

The rumors that point to Ben Affleck retiring the cape and cowl just aren't letting up and honestly, it's starting to upset us a bit. I mean, we've only really seen him as Batman in two movies, but he's left an undeniably strong impression and turned many doubters into fans. In fact, for a lot of people, he's the only interpretation of the Dark Knight that they'll accept in the DCEU.

After seeing his work in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, it became tough to imagine anyone else but him in the dual role of Bruce Wayne and Batman. And though Justice League was hardly a very good film, Big Ben certainly wasn’t to blame, offering up another interesting and exciting take on the Caped Crusader.

While it’s hard to say that Batfleck is the best interpretation of the character, he certainly has a lot of supporters and one of his biggest fans is Zack Snyder. The director has never been shy about his love for the work Affleck’s done and taking to social media platform Vero this week, Snyder called his colleague “my perfect Batman.”

While it’s not like the director would choose anyone else as his favorite Caped Crusader, it’s still nice to see him offering up some praise for Big Ben. Especially since there’s so much uncertainty over the actor’s future in the DCEU right now, with it seeming more and more likely that Matt Reeves will be recasting for The Batman as he aims to bring us a younger version of the hero.

And what a shame that would be. Affleck very clearly understands and loves the World’s Greatest Detective and seemingly has a lot more to offer in the role. So it’d certainly be a wasted opportunity if he had to end his run prematurely. But it looks like that’s indeed what’s going to happen and whether they like it or not, fans will now have to get used to a new Batman in the DCEU.
