Over on Twitter, the official Queen account has recognized Rami Malek and Bohemian Rhapsody's triumph at the 2019 Golden Globes.

“We’re family. We believe in each other. That’s everything.”

If you’re still reeling from Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony, you’re not alone. To recap: Bohemian Rhapsody was the upset of the evening, clinching the gong for Best Motion Picture – Drama from a category that included A Star is Born, If Beale Street Could Talk, BlacKKKlansman and Marvel’s Black Panther.

Impressive though that may be, Bohemian Rhapsody‘s triumph wasn’t without its controversy, given how Rotten Tomatoes confirmed earlier this week that it’s now officially the worst-reviewed Golden Globe winner (62 percent) since Meryl Streep’s Out of Africa from 1985, the same year in which Queen took the world by storm with their unforgettable Live Aid performance.

Controversy aside, that’s the real crux of Fox and Dexter Fletcher’s musical drama, as evidenced by this tweet from the official Queen Twitter account, which featured a couple of photos (see below) of Rami Malek standing on the shoulders of giants.

They are, of course, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, the surviving members of Queen who helped channel Freddie Mercury’s life and legacy all throughout Bohemian Rhapsody. Much of their work naturally took place behind the scenes, given the film charts Queen’s rise to prominence before that spectacular show at Wembley. However, up above you’ll get a sneak peek of each band member rubbing shoulders with one another.

If you happened to miss Sunday’s awards show, Rami Malek’s impassioned acceptance speech is certainly worth a nosy, after he collected the prize for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama. Next stop, the Oscars? Who knows, but the momentum for Bohemian Rhapsody is certainly beginning to swell ahead of the nominations being announced on January 22nd.
