The midseason finale of Arrow season 7 dropped a major bombshell that’ll change the Queen family forever, as it revealed that the new Green Arrow who’d taken over from Oliver during his incarceration was actually Emiko Queen, the long-lost half-sister he never knew he had.

The recent midseason premiere then fleshed out Emiko’s character somewhat, with the original Emerald Archer discovering about her existence for the first time. But how did things move on from here? Well, the promo for next week’s episode, “Past Sins,” teases that Oliver will try and extend an olive branch to Emiko, apologizing for how their father treated her. However, Emiko has grown up hating the Queens, so it doesn’t look like it’s going to be that easy to bury the hatchet, especially while she’s busy burying arrows in bad guys.

The trailer focuses a lot on this brother/sister dynamic, though the synopsis and promo photos for the episode promise that “Past Sins” will put the emphasis on Diggle and Lyla’s efforts to restart the Suicide Squad – er, we mean the Ghost Initiative. We previously saw Ricardo Diaz incorporated into the rebooted Task Force X, but these images tease that Kane Wolfman, Cupid and China White will fill out the rest of the gang.

For more, you can check out the synopsis for the episode below, which reminds us that it’s David Ramsey’s first directorial effort on the show.

“Past Sins” – (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV)

DAVID RAMSEY DIRECTS HIS FIRST EPISODE OF ARROW – The past comes back to haunt both Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy). David Ramsey directed the episode written by Onalee Hunter Hughes & Tonya Kong (#711). Original airdate 1/28/2019.
