New Marvel Rumors Hint At Big Plans For Spider-Man And Dark Avengers

Despite his untimely death in Avengers: Infinity War, 2019 is set to be a big year for Peter Parker, with the young hero expected to make a comeback in Avengers: Endgame before returning to the forefront with Spider-Man: Far From Home. But while Tom Holland’s five-film contract will have likely run its course by the time his next solo outing drops, a new report alleges that the wall-crawler still has a big future ahead of him, and it may have something to do with the oft-rumored Dark Avengers movie.

According to Charles Murphy of That Hashtag Show, Holland is expected to sign a new deal that will allow Spider-Man to stay in the MCU, and sure enough, Sony producer Amy Pascal has hinted in past interviews that she’d like to keep the studio’s relationship with Marvel going.

What’s more, it’s suggested that Peter’s famed foe Norman Osborn could soon join the saga. To elaborate, Murphy alleges that the character was previously written to appear in Sony’s ultimately scrapped Silver and Black movie, and speculates that the script’s rewrites were partly so that the villain could be removed at the behest of Marvel Studios. But since we’ve already seen the Green Goblin on our screens, the report suggests that Kevin Feige may have a different trajectory in mind for Norman that will see the character suiting up in his Iron Patriot persona as part of the Dark Avengers.

Of course, this mix of rumor and speculation should all be taken with a dose of healthy skepticism, but if this really is what Feige has in mind, then we’ll hopefully get some hints of the developments to come when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5th, 2019.
