Get A Better Look At The Birds Of Prey Trailer With These Hi-Res Screenshots

The first teaser for Birds of Prey dropped today, giving us a glimpse of the new look Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn will be sporting in the anti-heroine team-up movie as well as introducing us to her new allies. The characters only flash by in the 20-second teaser, so it's hard to take everything in, but we've now got a huge batch of hi-res screenshots which provide a much better look at the costumes for the Birds of Prey and their predators.

The teaser begins by offering us a look at just part of the characters’ attire. Robbie appears to be in a totally different outfit from the one that’s unveiled at the end, which suggests she’ll change what she’s wearing several times throughout the movie. Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Huntress, meanwhile, has her trusty crossbow, as per the comics, and GCPD cop Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) seems to have a bit of drinking problem. Then there’s young Cassandra Cain (Ellie Jay Basco) who has her arm in a cast, which you can see has some harsh insults written on it in place of get-well messages.

The series of full body shots then reveal more of the Birds’ costumes. As we expected, Huntress’ vibrant purple has been replaced with the usual “this is a movie so it’s more grounded” black. Similarly, Black Canary’s get-up looks to have got a twist with Dinah Lance (Jurnee Smollett- Bell) wearing fishnet sleeves instead of stockings.

As for the villains, Ewan McGregor’s Black Mask is missing his, er, black mask, but there’s no reason to fear it won’t appear, as they could be saving the reveal for later. Likewise, Chris Messina’s Victor Zsasz looks pretty creepy – suitably for a serial killer – though he’s missing the villain’s distinctive tally skin-marks.

The end of the teaser promises “see you soon,” with a lipstick kiss goodbye from Dr. Quinzel. By the sounds of it, then, we’ll get a more substantial look at the movie in the not too distant future. Although, this short promo has already done a great job of making us even more excited for Birds of Prey‘s release in February 2020.
