That places the onus on Carol Danvers’ shoulders to continue Marvel’s red-hot streak, and at least based on this stunning new bit of footage, the pic looks to be a sure-fire success – maybe not “one of the best films ever made,” but a success nonetheless. You can check out the latest promo up above and judge for yourself, but it’s without a doubt a very exciting tease of what’s to come.

Rooted in the 1990s, long before SLJ’s Nick Fury began assembling a group of remarkable people, Captain Marvel explores the extraordinary story of Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot caught up in the midst of the Kree-Skrull war. The latter species are known for their shapeshifting abilities, which ought to make for some intriguing scenes come March – remember when the Internet lost its collective shit at Captain Marvel punching an old lady? Yeah, things are about to get crazy.

Also on the casting docket for this one are Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening and Clark Gregg, the MCU’s forgotten man who hasn’t been glimpsed on the big screen since he was brutally murdered by Loki in The Avengers. But a mid-90s setting has opened up the door for Agent Coulson’s triumphant return.

Captain Marvel makes a beeline for theaters on March 8th, and the MCU will never be the same again…
