Ever since she delivered a breakout performance in low-budget horror flick, The Witch, Taylor-Joy has seized one juicy role after another, including Split, Glass and the soon-to-be-released X-Men spinoff, The New Mutants. And according to Variety, she’s added another spooky project to her bustling slate.

Its name? Last Night in Soho, which is now the official title of Edgar Wright’s new film. It’s said to be inspired by Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion, and will be set in central London, as the name suggests. Further details are being kept under lock and key for the moment, but we understand Wright plans to begin shooting this summer from a screenplay co-written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who is perhaps best known for her work on the Penny Dreadful series.

And just like that, Edgar Wright’s latest feature film is beginning to fall into place. The British thesp was said to be mulling over a direct sequel to Baby Driver, the music-propelled actioner in which Ansel Elgort plays a skilled getaway driver equipped with nothing more than a killer soundtrack.

But a journey into uncharted territory (i.e. psychological horror) clearly piqued the director’s attention, who’s said to be working in tandem with Focus and Working Title in the hope that Last Night in Soho will be in front of the cameras this summer – presumably ahead of a theatrical release in 2020.

Anya Taylor-Joy, on the other hand, is still riding high after her second appearance as Casey Cooke, one of Kevin Wendall Crumb’s few friends in the atypical film universe dreamed up by M. Night Shyamalan. She’ll soon feature in the Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, before Last Night in Soho sets the wheels in motion this summer.
