Star Lord in Avengers Infinity War

Chris Pratt Agrees That Star-Lord Screwed Up Big In Avengers: Infinity War

Following the deaths of half of the Marvel universe at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, MCU fans had only one character to blame. No, not Thanos, despite him being the one to finger snap all those folks away, but Star-Lord. Fans felt that Peter Quill's violent reaction to finding out that the Mad Titan had killed Gamora foiled his allies' plan to get the Infinity Gauntlet off Thanos, thereby eventually leading to him succeeding in his goals.

But what does Chris Pratt think about the backlash against his character and does this make him nervous about the upcoming Avengers: Endgame? The Guardians of the Galaxy star was asked this while speaking with Digital Spy and revealed that honestly, he kind of agrees with fans’ grievances about Quill’s actions but he’s not worried about Endgame, as he’s sure that people are going to love it.

“Oh no, I’m not nervous at all about Endgame coming out. I think it’s totally true, and I personally feel the same as everyone else about Star-Lord. But I know things, ok? And I feel like audiences are gonna be blown away when this next film comes out.”

Elizabeth Banks, Pratt’s co-star in The LEGO Movie 2, then joined in with the questioning, asking: “Some forgiveness might be in your future?”

Pratt clammed up to stop himself from revealing any spoilers, but did promise that Endgame will be something very special.

“I don’t even know. Even if it’s not, it was worth it, because this is an experience for fans that truly never will be matched again in the history of cinema.”

He’s clearly too much of a pro at keeping spoilers under his hat by this point, but it sounds like the actor’s confident that Star-Lord will eventually be redeemed in fans’ eyes for his costly emotional reaction. This has long been something that people have theorized, too, as it’s assumed that Doctor Strange allowed Quill to lash out at Thanos as it was part of the chain of events that made up the one good timeline that he foresaw while viewing alternate futures.

In any case, we’ll find out for sure when Avengers: Endgame hits cinemas on April 26th.
