Avengers: Endgame Testing Very Well With Audiences So Far

According to directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is testing very well so far with audiences who've seen it.

Avengers: Endgame is dealing with high enough expectations already without its stars going out there and hyping the movie up even more, but in a recent interview with Digital Spy, Chris Pratt did just that, as couldn’t help but to heap praise on Marvel’s Phase 3 finale.

In case you missed it, the Star-Lord actor promised that audiences are going to be blown away by the sequel, stating that it will never “be matched again in the history of cinema.” Those are some very bold words, but ones we don’t doubt, as the studio rarely lets us down and with how much they have riding on Endgame, we imagine they’ll be pulling out all the stops.

In fact, if co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo are to be believed, the film is already going down pretty well with those who’ve been lucky enough to see it. Chatting with Collider earlier today, the brothers shared the following about Avengers: Endgame:

“Right now, we think the movie is playing well and we’ve had great responses from our test audiences and we’re feeling very good about where it is. We’re still doing work to it. We’re not done with it. Again, this is a culmination film of 22 movies, it’s a lot of storytelling to work into it. Emotion is an intrinsic part of that to us. When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want strong emotional moments with the characters, it just requires a certain amount of real estate. This one, in particular, feels like three hours worth of real estate.”

Of course, it’s not like they’d say if test audiences weren’t enjoying it, but we have no reason to doubt any of this. After all, its predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War, is widely considered to be one of Marvel’s most accomplished efforts to date and seeing as this is Part 2 of the story, it’s easy to imagine it being just as enjoyable and impressive.

That being said, we’re still pretty in the dark when it comes to what we can expect from Avengers: Endgame. The first trailer held quite a lot back and the recent TV spot wasn’t much different in that regard, with neither piece of promotional material doing very much to further our understanding of the plot. But fans can rest assured that the film’s in good hands and we have every reason to believe we’ll be in for one heck of a good time come April.
