MCU Star Explains Why Tom Holland And Mark Ruffalo Always Spoil Films

Tom Holland may have a reputation as a notorious blabbermouth, but it's been some time now since the Spider-Man: Far From Home star has let anything slip. Perhaps the actor has finally learned to watch what he says, if only for fear of what might happen if he accidentally reveals something he's not supposed to? Or, maybe it's just that Marvel's come down harder on their spoiler-friendly cast members.

After all, though Mark Ruffalo’s total inability to keep secrets regarding the films he stars in is also a widely known fact, he too has been awfully quiet as of late. It was mostly due to his and Tom Holland’s blabbermouths that Marvel had to give the actors either only portions of the script or entirely fake scenes for Avengers: Infinity War in the first place, but both stars have been treading carefully these days, watching what they say and being extra careful not to slip up.

But what exactly is it about these two that makes them so prone to accidentally revealing things that they aren’t supposed to? And why does Marvel not have this problem with any of their other actors?

Well, in a recent interview with Syfy Wire, Evangeline Lilly, who plays the MCU’s Wasp, touched on this very topic and said that it always seems to be those two who drop spoilers simply because of the type of people they are.

“It’s no coincidence that it’s always Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo because those two are such genuine, sweet, open, vulnerable human beings. Their nature is not cagey or to hide, lie, and defend. They’re just lovers whose arms are wide open to the world.”

That certainly makes sense, and given that Kevin Feige and co. are well aware of this, they’ve been taking some pretty extreme measures to ensure that the leaks for Avengers: Endgame are being kept to a minimum. For one thing, multiple actors have admitted to not even knowing the film’s official title ahead of its reveal in December, while Karen Gillan has said that she hasn’t seen a full script for the pic yet.

Indeed, it seems Marvel has really got their security measures all figured out now and with any luck, the best surprises will be kept in tact right up until Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th. At which point, Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo will be free to talk about it all they want.
