Samuel L. Jackson May’ve Spoiled How Captain Marvel Returns In Avengers: Endgame

Samuel L. Jackson may've just accidentally spoiled how Captain Marvel returns in Avengers: Endgame. And it's exactly how we thought she would.

We’ve known for a while now that Carol Danvers will play a crucial role in the plot of Avengers: Endgame, and in a recent interview with Total Film, Captain Marvel star Samuel L. Jackson may have accidentally spilled the beans on how exactly she’ll join up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Given that CM is set in the 1990s and Endgame takes place several decades later, it’s always been a mystery how Carol eventually finds her way into the present day and crosses paths with Cap, Iron Man and the rest. At the moment, time travel remains by far the most prominent theory, with the evidence ranging from leaked set pics to a line about ‘time vortexes’ in Ant-Man and the Wasp, and it seems that’s exactly how she’s going to meet up with our heroes.

In the aforementioned interview, SLJ touched on some of Carol’s abilities and seemingly confirmed that she’ll return in Endgame thanks to her ability to travel through time.

“I guess we might figure out that she can do things that nobody else can do,” the actor teased. “She can time travel so maybe she can get ahead or behind or whatever, and figure out what all that is. The fact I have the pager 20 years later – it gets addressed in an interesting sort of way.”

Though he’s not outright confirming anything here, Samuel L. Jackson’s words are pretty telling and at this stage, it’s indeed looking like time travel will be the answer to many of the questions we have regarding both Carol Danvers and the plot of Endgame as a whole. After all, the amount of evidence we have at this stage to suggest some trips through time will be taking place is pretty overwhelming.

Still, with Marvel not giving us very much to go on in the recent Super Bowl TV spot or even the first trailer, the fans are left to spin their theories for the time being. Hopefully all will be revealed though when Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8th, followed by Avengers: Endgame on April 26th.
