First Captain Marvel Reactions Surface On Twitter And They’re Fantastic

In just a few short weeks, we'll be heading into theaters to see Captain Marvel, which will expand the cosmic side of the MCU and no doubt set the stage for much of what's to come after Avengers: Endgame. Unfortunately, though, it seems that the hype train has died down a little bit as of late.

You could blame it on the previews not quite getting across what the character’s really about. Or maybe it’s just in danger of being overshadowed by Endgame. Alternatively, there could just be a bit of origin story fatigue creeping in with comic book movie fans. Whatever the case, it doesn’t look like there’s anything to worry about, as the social media embargo has now lifted and it seems like the critics are head over heels in love with Carol Danvers.

Of course, what you’ll see below is just a small sampling of reactions coming from a select group of press, and may not be entirely representative of what the general public will think once they see it next month. Still, that being said, the responses so far seem to be overwhelmingly positive and they should no doubt help rev up the hype train a bit.

Clearly, Marvel’s going to be pretty pleased to hear that the first wave of critics have left the theater overly impressed. After all, they seem to have a lot of faith in Brie Larson and the heroine she plays, and their trust may not be misplaced. Box office projections have pegged the movie’s domestic opening weekend haul at $160 million, while Captain Marvel has also performed extremely well as far as pre-sales go.

Still, the real test comes when the film arrives in theaters on March 8th. After that, Carol Danvers will be joining the rest of her superhero peers in Avengers: Endgame, which touches down on April 26th.
