Variety is reporting that Breaking Away star Dennis Christopher has joined Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Christopher will play Calvin Candie’s (Leonardo DiCaprio) lawyer, Leo Moguy. Tarantino is known for giving forgotten actors who still have talent a come back and I’m sure this is part of the reason for Christopher’s casting.

Christopher, like Gerald McRaney, had a supporting role in HBO‘s western Deadwood, which begs the question if we will see anymore of the actors from the cult TV series join the cast any time soon.

Deadwood’s Ian McShane would be a great prospect to fill the role of Ace Woody, left vacant by Kevin Coster, but we will have to wait and see who Tarantino has in mind to fill out the rest of the cast.

Django Unchained begins shooting in January and stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Gerald McRaney and is in cinemas on the December 25th, 2012.
