Expect Rocket To Have A Pretty Big Role In Avengers: Endgame

Speaking to IGN recently, Sean Gunn teased Rocket's role in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame and it sounds like it'll be a big one.

Much has been said about the various tragic journeys of the heroes of Avengers: Infinity War. In addition to those who turned to dust as a result of Thanos’ snap though, you also have to feel bad for some of the survivors, as they’re now left behind to contemplate their failure and mourn the loss of their friends and family in a world that’s been drastically changed.

But amidst all this, one individual whose pain often gets overlooked is Guardians of the Galaxy star Rocket Raccoon. His friend Gamora was one of the first major heroes to meet their maker in the film and shortly after, his remaining colleagues were disintegrated thanks to the Decimation. But rest assured, Rocket will soldier on and is apparently set to play a pretty major role in Avengers: Endgame. Or at least, it sure sounds like he will.

Speaking to IGN earlier this week, actor Sean Gunn teased what the character will be up to in the hugely anticipated sequel and said the following:

“All I can say is that Rocket gets to meet a lot of interesting new people that he has not met before in Endgame and I think I’ll leave it at that.”

Unfortunately, he wouldn’t reveal anything else, but given that he says Rocket will be encountering a lot of new faces that he hasn’t met in the past, we imagine he’ll have a fairly substantial part to play. In fact, some have even speculated that he may be the one to save Tony and Nebula and bring them back to Earth, which would certainly make him instrumental to the story and could give him a big heroic moment.

Whatever Marvel has planned for him though, we’re certainly excited to find out. Just don’t expect the Raccoon to be in the sunniest of moods when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters next month, on April 26th.
