Need For Speed: The Run Demo Speeding By In October

It's easy to be skeptical about upcoming racer Need For Speed: The Run. After all, the series is based on racing in a car, and many fans (including myself) shrugged in apathy when it was announced that the game would also feature some on-foot segments. Thankfully, EA announced that a demo will be released in advance of the game's release to quell any concerns.

It’s easy to be skeptical about upcoming racer Need For Speed: The Run. After all, the series is based on racing in a car, and many fans (including myself) shrugged in apathy when it was announced that the game would also feature some on-foot segments. Thankfully, EA announced that a demo will be released in advance of the game’s release to quell any concerns.

The demo will hit Xbox Live and PSN on October 18, nearly a month before the game’s November 15 release date.

EA has said that the demo will put drivers in control of a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni in the middle of a desert.

Interestingly, players will also gain access to a 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S if you refer a friend to the demo. How this will happen is unclear, but I’m assuming there’s some kind of in-demo prompt or button.

Need For Speed: The Run is the first game in the series that will see players step out of the car. The game is supposed to be a high-stakes race from San Francisco to New York.

What say you, gamers? I’m actually quite excited for this demo, as I’ve been a Need For Speed fan all my life.
