Two of the most anticipated films of 2012 have had their released dates announced. Warner Bros., who will distribute both Ben Affleck’s Argo and Ruben Fleischer’s The Gangster Squad, have announced fall release dates for both pictures.

Argo will be released on September 14th. Right around the same time as Afflecks last directional film, The Town. So far Argo‘s only competition, if you could call it that, will be Resident Evil: Retribution.

The Gangster Squad will be released on October 19th. Its only major competition for that weekend will be a Rom-Com titled The Wedding which stars of Robert De Niro, Amanda Seyfried, Susan Sarandon and Katherine Heigl.

Both films have huge A-list casts, and interestingly enough, Ben Affleck passed on The Gangster Squad and Man Of Steel, to direct Argo. I’m expecting great things from both and I don’t think either of them will disappoint.

Argo stars Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, Scoot McNairy, John Goodman, Alan Arkin and Kyle Chandler while The Gangster Squad stars Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, Giovanni Ribisi, Mireille Enos, Michael Peña, Josh Pence, Nick Nolte, and Anthony Mackie.

Which of these two films are you more excited too see? Let us know in the comments.
