Awesome Hi-Res Look At Thanos In Avengers: Endgame Revealed

The three Avengers: Endgame trailers we've had so far have given us a good look at those heroes still standing after the Snap, but we've only seen the barest hint of their nemesis Thanos. We got our first official glimpse at the villain's new appearance in the movie yesterday via a leaked Empire cover though and now, a hi-res version of the same image has materialized online which gives us a clear look at the armored-up bad guy.

As awesome as Thanos looks here, the reveal of his heavily-armored new appearance does leave us scratching our heads as to why he’s wearing it in the first place. After all, in Avengers: Infinity War, when facing all the galaxy’s heroes, the Mad Titan decided to go into battle with just a vest. And he won! So now that he has fewer Avengers coming up against him, why would he decide to be cautious? Maybe it’s all to do with the arrival of one hero he didn’t face in IW: a certain warrior known as Captain Marvel.

What’s more, also note that the Infinity Gauntlet appears to be in full working order again. After the all-important finger snap that wiped out half the universe, the glove appeared to be burnt out at the end of IW, which led us to believe the Gauntlet would be useless or at least reduced in power in Endgame. Thanos may have fixed the weapon somehow though, or maybe this is just a bit of dramatic license to make for a cooler cover.

When we last saw him, the Mad Titan had retired to some backwater planet, content with the horrors he’d committed. A leaked description of some Endgame footage shown at a shareholders meeting suggests that the Avengers will know where to find him, though, thanks to Nebula’s knowledge of her evil father. How the showdown goes from there, however, we’ll have to see when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
