Back in 1983, Warner Bros. released The Twilight Zone: The Movie, which consisted of four big name directors (Steven Spielberg being one of them). Now, the company wants to release another Twilight Zone film, but they’re only looking to make it one story.
According to Variety, some of the directors mentioned to bring another Twilight Zone story to the big screen are Christopher Nolan, Michael Bay and Alfonso Cuaron. Those are the big three but there are some other names floating around as well. They are Rupert Wyatt, who directed the surprising box office and critically acclaimed hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and David Yates, known for Harry Potter 5-7.
Here is how it looks for the top three: Nolan has worked with Warner Bros. on several projects, but he may not do the film due to its similarities with Inception. Bay is interested, but it may conflict with his new project, the competitive bodybuilding comedy Pain and Gain. Cuaron is putting the final touches on Gravity and doesn’t have anything lined up after the film is complete so he may have room to do it.
As of now, there is no word on how Warner Bros. wants to approach this latest entry in The Twilight Zone but we’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
