The last scene of the trailer saw him beaming down to Titan to battle Iron Man, Captain America and Thor. As he arrived in a blue haze, we assumed that he was using the Space Stone. However, there’s one key reason why it’s unlikely that the villain is employing the powers of the Infinity Stone here, and kudos to ComicBook.com for pointing it out.

When Thanos appears in this trailer, a shimmering blue effect is used. However, in previous examples of the Space Stone being used to traverse the cosmos, the effect illustrating this has been a portal surrounded by a kind of blue smoke. The more rudimentary effect used in the Endgame promo suggests that Thanos wasn’t using the one of the Stones. Which must mean that he can’t use them.

This fits with how the Infinity Gauntlet was depicted at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Following the snap that wiped out half the universe, the device was left a burned-out wreck. Likewise, it can be seen that Thanos’ arm is badly scarred and disfigured by the discharge of cosmic energy that backfired against him when he used the Gauntlet for something so monumental.

So, it looks like the Big Three will be on more of a level playing field when they go against the Mad Titan in Endgame. What’s more, he must be using his armor again as his left arm is still damaged from the snap. Without his Infinity Stones or the full use of his arm, Tony, Steve and Thor might just stand a chance at beating Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.
