Jean Loses Control In First X-Men: Dark Phoenix TV Spot

The first TV spot for X-Men: Dark Phoenix has arrived online and it teases Jean Grey slowly losing control of her powers.

Avengers: Endgame isn’t the only comic book movie finale set to come our way in 2019.

As X-Men fans surely know, Dark Phoenix is set to remembered as the final chapter in this current mutant saga, before the characters inevitably revert back to Marvel Studios as part of the recent and groundbreaking Disney-Fox deal.

When, exactly, the gang will make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still subject to debate, but for now, X-Men fans are quietly preparing for the end of the franchise as they know it. And today, to tease folks with what to expect when Dark Phoenix flies into theaters later this year, Fox has released a brand new TV spot that shows Jean Grey starting to lose control.

While the film does look to have a few interesting moments, we still can’t say that we’re too impressed by what’s on display here. Nor have we been impressed by much else of what we’ve seen.

Everything about this final outing for the series just screams underwhelming and while we’re hopeful that director Simon Kinberg and co. will manage to surprise us with the finished product, at the moment, we remain worried that the franchise will go out with a whimper rather than a bang.

As things stand, X-Men: Dark Phoenix is scheduled to fly into cinemas on June 7th, and let’s just say that Fox faces an uphill struggle if it’s to salvage anything from their summer tentpole. That’s just our opinion, though.

What do you think? Do you feel that there’s still hope for the latest – and final – X-movie? As always, let us know your thoughts, comments and concerns in the usual place down below.
