Now, diehard horror savants can finally go a step further this summer. The spooky site of Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives, noted as being one of the most critically acclaimed movies in the franchise since the original, will open its doors for a few days for those looking to immerse themselves in the film that redefined Jason Voorhees forever.

On Set Cinema is hosting a bone-chilling weekend at Hard Labor Creek State Park in Rutledge, GA from August 9th through the 11th. For $150, guests will be able to bunk in the cabins seen in the movie while partaking in many classic camp activities. There will be bonfires, swimming, canoeing, s’mores and plenty of scary flicks on VHS.

The sixth installment of the franchise has long been considered one of the most formative of the long-running slasher series. Jason’s resurrection from the dead via electricity marked the first time the undead serial killer was given near superhuman powers. This is a trend that would become a staple of all subsequent Friday the 13th movies, up until the 2009 remake of the original.

Of course, the weekend wouldn’t be complete without a big screen showing of Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives, and while the full event schedule is expected to be released soon, the trip already sounds like a blast for any diehard fan of the iconic franchise. Tickets are on sale here right now and may be sold out soon, so act quick!

We should note that fans in attendance may want to keep their eyes peeled, though. Jason may not take too kindly to strangers lurking around his neck of the woods…
