In the meantime, however, Disney CEO Bob Iger has shared our first look at the screen interface for the upcoming Disney Plus streaming service. And in one of the newly unveiled images is an early glimpse of the logo for Jon Favreau’s series. As you can see below, the artwork types out the name of the show in steely grey lettering, where the ‘A’ is formed by the outline of the title character.

It’s believed that Pedro Pascal of Narcos and Game of Thrones fame will be the one hiding under the helmet, and he’ll be joined by the likes of Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers and Werner Herzog. Moreover, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi is thought to be voicing fan favorite IG-88, as well as helming one of the episodes.

While a premiere date for The Mandalorian has yet to be announced, Entertainment Weekly reported earlier this year that the show’s release will coincide with the launch of Disney Plus. We can therefore assume that the Mouse House is banking on Favreau’s series to get their new streaming service off on the right foot. And as another sign of the company’s faith in the project, a report from last month alleged that the Star Wars spinoff is likely to get a season 2 order before the first one even airs.

It’ll likely be a few more months before fans can decide for themselves if The Mandalorian is as good as Disney seems to think it is. But for now, stay tuned for updates as we move further into the Star Wars Celebration weekend.
