Speaking at a recent fan event in the UK, Anthony Russo reiterated that Endgame truly is the end of the MCU as we know it, likening the journey to a 22-chapter novel that’s about to reach its final page.

“Endgame is the conclusion to the 22 movie run that audiences have been following beginning eleven years ago with the first Iron Man film. So they can expect sort of an epic final chapter in that book we’ve all been reading together,”

Everything from Iron Man to Endgame is retroactively being labelled “the Infinity Saga”, as the threat of Thanos and his quest for the Infinity Stones is the loose story arc that unites at least most of the movies so far. This film, however, will finally see the galaxy’s mightiest heroes stop the Mad Titan once and for all.

Those in attendance at the event got a taste of the pic, but the full 3-hour spectacular won’t be screened until the big world premiere in Los Angeles in just under a week. Joe explained that he and his brother are excited to finally reveal all the secrets they’ve kept bottled up for years, saying:

“We are going to be really excited April 22 in Los Angeles when we actually show the whole thing to an audience, but we have been keeping the secrets on this movie for three years now.”

Anthony then clarified that none of the cast has even seen the full cut. The stars have been saying this during the press tour, of course, but we thought they might have been stretching the truth. It appears as if they’re really in the same boat as us, though.

“We’re literally not showing it to anybody days before it opens around the world. Even the cast hasn’t seen the film.

Despite the Russos’ best efforts, unfortunately there are some major leaks floating around on social media. As such, you may want to be careful out there until the agonizing wait comes to an end when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
