Dwayne Johnson Named One Of TIME’s Top 100 Most Influential People

Can you smell what Dwayne Johnson is cooking? I can, and it smells like compassion and empathy. For his numerous contributions to charities, his general niceness, his dope Instagram posts, and the major impression this hulking A-Lister has made in the Hollywood landscape, TIME Magazine put The Rock himself on their Top 100 Most Influential People list, commonly referred to as TIME 100. Each year, the magazine selects from athletes, artists, business leaders, political leaders, and other sectors to be featured as the best and brightest of the year, with fellow contemporaries tasked with penning short-but-sweet tributes to the listees.

Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson’s co-star in those Fast and Furious films, was selected to write the ultimate tribute to The Scorpion King, and she delivered a doozy. “If you have had the pleasure to work with him,” she writes, “you know he is full of heart and creates an environment on set of warmth and positivity.”

She continues to describe his charitable efforts, with such organizations as the Red Cross, Make-A-Wish, and The Beacon Experience, a charity that encourages youths to pursue education well after high school via dedicated mentoring. In addition to that, he has his own charity called the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation, which focuses exclusively on giving children in the United States hope and help when there is none.

This is just another item to add to the star’s already sprawling list of accomplishments. After all, he is, without question, the most successful wrestler-turned-actor to date, with most of his films scoring major bucks at the box office.

I mean, who else is popular enough to have a prequel spinoff after maybe five minutes of screen time via his Scorpion King? He’s one of the few human beings to have a signature eyebrow movement, too. On top of all of that though, he’s just a nice, humble dude. Plus, have you seen how many brownies Dwayne Johnson can put away? It’s insane.
