Last week, almost five-minutes of spoiler-heavy Avengers: Endgame footage leaked online, sending Marvel fans fleeing en masse from social media to avoid being exposed to this revealing content. But for those of you who are still taking their chances on Twitter or Instagram, you may want to bear in mind that a huge number of people will have seen the whole 3-hour feature very soon.
The first public screenings for the Avengers: Infinity War sequel start at 12am in China on April 24th, which translates to 12pm EST on Tuesday, April 23rd. At the time of writing, this means we have slightly over 24 hours to go until the first set of filmgoers are sat down for their viewing, and you just know that there are some people out there who’ll be all too happy to spoil the whole thing.
These early screenings will have started and finished before the first reviews have even made their way online. In a move that seems very much in line with Marvel Studios’ cautious handling of Endgame, the review and social media embargoes are scheduled to lift at 6pm EST tomorrow, so look out for those Twitter reactions unless you’re hoping to go in completely free of preconceptions.
In any case, the internet is going to have a lot to talk about in the next few days, from the fate of the franchise’s biggest stars, to the surprise cameos that the Russo Brothers almost certainly have lined up, to the film’s hints about the future of the MCU. You can judge for yourself if the movie is worth all this mass spoiler hysteria though when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
