At the time of writing, the global gross of Carol Danvers’ solo debut sits at a hefty $1,089,526,133, having recently passed the $400 million mark domestically. These figures make Captain Marvel the 7th highest grossing film of the MCU, falling behind only the three Avengers movies, Black Panther, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War. On top of that, the flick now stands as the 25th highest grossing feature of all time, just beating out The Dark Knight Rises over the weekend.

Interestingly, the movie’s last three days actually saw Captain Marvel do a little better domestically than it did on the weekend before, jumping up from $8.6 to $9.1 million. Perhaps filmgoers are keen to revisit or catch up on the latest MCU release before Avengers: Endgame continues Carol’s story.

Speaking of which, while Captain Marvel currently ranks as 2019’s highest grossing film by a pretty wide margin, you can expect that title to be taken soon enough by the Avengers: Infinity War sequel. In light of the movie’s ridiculously strong pre-sales, Endgame is thought to be headed for a record-breaking opening weekend on levels both global and domestic.

Right now, not much is known about Carol’s role in this week’s release, but it’s generally assumed that she’ll be a key player in turning the tide against Thanos. Just recently, in fact, Brie Larson offered her assurance that Captain Marvel will be “stronger than ever,” but we can see for ourselves when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
