Avengers: Endgame Captain Marvel

Marvel Officially Releases Captain Marvel Post-Credits Scene Online

Now that Captain Marvel has become Marvel Studios' latest billion dollar baby and can lay claim to being the 25th highest grossing movie of all time, it stands to reason that a fair amount of True Believers reading this article have had a chance to enjoy Carol Danvers' first solo outing on the big screen. Still, we can't take it for granted that everyone has had the opportunity to catch up.

Fortunately, a small – yet significant – piece of the puzzle has officially been released online, and can be viewed via the video embedded above. In case you hadn’t figured it out, this just so happens to be Captain Marvel‘s post-credits scene that leads directly into the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame. Based on the way it unfolds, it may very well be a scene excised from the ensemble flick, a practice that isn’t exactly unheard of when it comes to Marvel Cinematic Universe stingers.

As you watch the clip, you’ll see a few of the surviving Earth’s Mightiest Heroes examining the device left behind by Nick Fury after he was dusted in Infinity War. Of course, we the viewers know this acted as a pager of sorts designed to summon Carol from across the cosmos, which it luckily ended up doing.

If you were to ask me, dropping this onto the web was a smart move by the studio because we still have some time to go before Captain Marvel makes its way to Blu-ray and DVD. And though I recommend seeing the film at your local multiplex because it’s quite enjoyable, a much larger audience will obviously be on hand for the final battle with Thanos.

That said, be sure to join Captain Marvel, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow and the rest of the crew when Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters this Friday, April 26th.
