Mark Ruffalo Shares Video Thanking Fans After Avengers: Endgame Premiere

In the wake of Monday’s Avengers: Endgame premiere in Los Angeles, Mark Ruffalo has apparently been left in a melancholic mood, sharing a pair of social media posts that reflect on his time in the superhero saga.

The first tweet takes the form of a video in which the Hulk actor thanks fans for all their support, and asks that we keep telling stories.

“Normally I’d do something that was, you know, rambunctious.” Ruffalo said. “But honestly, I’m a little melancholy. It’s the end of an era and I just want to thank all you all for your support and undying devotion to what we’ve been doing these past 10 years. It’s been amazing. I think the world of ya. Let’s keep telling stories.”

Later on, Ruffalo expanded on his thoughts a little, tweeting a shout out to his co-stars and collaborators, before hyping up this week’s release:

“Being a part of the @Marvel family has been the trip of a lifetime. I could not have asked for a better team to spend the last seven years with. I can’t wait for you all to see the epic adventure that is #AvengersEndgame”

At this point, a large number of filmgoers have already seen this “epic adventure.” In particular, Endgame is currently doing very well for itself in China, where the movie managed to pass the $100 million mark in its first day. Meanwhile, over in North America, the film is expected to beat the all-time opening weekend record held by Avengers: Infinity War, and may even get as high as $300 million in its first three days.

But going back to Ruffalo’s comments, while most filmgoers have yet to find out whether or not the actor’s run in the MCU ends here, Endgame is at least assumed to be the last time we see the original six Phase 1 Avengers together in one place. Indeed, it’s widely predicted that Iron Man and Captain America in particular will be dropping out of the saga, as the film clears space for some new heroes to enter the fray.

The reviews suggest that Avengers: Endgame has wrapped up the current era on a worthy note, but you can judge for yourself when the film hits theaters on April 26th.
