According to ABS-CBN News, some fans were lined up as early as 4:30am to see the long-awaited Avengers: Infinity War sequel. And as excessive as that sounds, it’s just one of the many extreme examples of fan dedication that we’ve heard about in recent weeks.

Over in the US, for example, opening night tickets were being sold on eBay at extortionate prices that sometimes went as high as five figures. Meanwhile, in China, Variety reports that a system malfunction caused one Shanghai theater to sell tickets for more than $150, and by the time they caught the bug, more than half the tickets had already been sold.

Of course, if you’d rather not pay through the nose or queue up at 4:30am for a chance to see Endgame, then you’re hardly at a loss for options. In North America, the upcoming flick is scheduled to play on more than 4,600 domestic screens on opening weekend, making it the widest release of all time. On top of that, AMC is planning to keep 18 of its theaters open nonstop Thursday through Saturday, while an additional 17 locations will keep going into Sunday, staying open for 72 hours straight.

The crazy thing is that Avengers: Endgame might even do well enough to justify these preparations. As it stands, the film is expected to beat the domestic opening weekend record held by Infinity War, and may even pass the $300 million mark, but we’ll find out if the movie can match these projections when it arrives in theaters on April 26th.
