Netflix Is Adding A Ton Of Great Horror Movies And TV Shows In May

By now, I'm pretty sure you're well-acquainted with the phrase "Netflix and chill." Even though we've got some time to go until Halloween season kicks off, there's no reason why we can't indulge in the horror genre in the interim. After all, it may be one of the most popular classifications of movies to bring people together on date nights.

Well, beginning this May, some choice selections will find their way to the streaming service. Looking over the list myself, I’m seeing some definite classics, one particularly anticipated new arrival, and a few TV series that I know more than a couple people are dying to binge.

Without further ado, here’s what’s coming your way on May 1st:

  • Gremlins
  • Munafik 2 – Netflix Original Movie
  • Roswell, New Mexico: Season One
  • Scream
  • Taking Lives
  • Zombieland

May 3rd:

  • Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile
  • Supernatural: Season 14

Scream

May 8th:

  • Lucifer: Season 4 – Netflix Original

May 9th:

  • Insidious

May 17th:

  • The Rain: Season 2 – Netflix Original

May 18th:

  • The Blackcoat’s Daughter

May 23rd:

  • Slasher Season 3: Solstice – Netflix Original

May 24th:

  • The Perfection – Netflix Original

Needless to say, that’s a lot to keep you busy – until June rolls around, that is. Personally, I highly recommend that you check out Supernatural‘s fourteenth season if you’re otherwise caught up because not only did it see the return of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as John Winchester, but it was recently confirmed that season 15 will be the show’s last.

Another series that I’d like to spotlight before getting out of here is that of Lucifer. Originally, the DC/Vertigo-based production ran on Fox for three seasons, only to be abruptly and shockingly cancelled. Fortunately, it was picked up by Netflix not long thereafter. Granted, it’s been nearly a year since Tom Ellis’ Lucifer Morningstar has graced airwaves, but I’m sure it’ll feel like no time has passed once viewers are given the chance to reunite with him.
